You're Not The Only One Having A Bad Day

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day - Ray Cruz, Judith Viorst

Guided Reading Level: M

Grade Level: K-2nd

Summary: Alexander is having the worst day of his life! It's so bad, he wants to move to Australia. Let's be honest. Haven't we all had days like this? This book is something that young readers can absolutely relate to, and that's what I love about it! One could teach children that every day will not be perfect. Sometimes people go through things. However, these things make you a better person because you learn from them. They're what make you who you are!

Idea: I will most definitely be using this book for a cause and effect lesson. I will also use this book to house a class discussion on what makes a good day, as well as a bad one. The more students are able to relate to the text, the more information they will be able to gain from it!
